Welcome to Shore Things – my name is Tessa Hardie, I live on the Norfolk coast, and I make a small selection of gifts from driftwood, shells, and recycled fabrics.  I am lucky enough to live in this part of the world, and love nothing more than having a morning coffee and a croissant down on the sea-front (it has to be in the Rocket House – best coffee, best views, and best staff!)  and then setting off for a walk to see what the tide has brought in.

I’ve been heard to say, out loud, that I was going for a “womble”, and I really do bring home “things that the everyday folk leave behind”!! I like re-using fabrics and buttons too – my Mum taught me to be thrifty! Her generation had to cope with rationing and learnt to make things last …..a good lesson for today too! Re-cycling is really about being practical , sensible , and it’s rewarding too. If you make something with love and care, it shows, and is then quite unlike anything you can buy on the high-street.
